Striped Tank Dress for a Family Party

When attending a formal family function, you must be sure to wear something that is not too revealing and clingy.  While a long dress may be covering your legs, be sure that the material is flowing and you look classy for your family event.  If the event is more casual, such as a picnic or bridal shower a casual summer dress is perfect.  Be sure to keep your body type in mind.  If you are busty you may want to stay clear of halter tops and low cut necklines since you may look too sexy for your family celebration.  If you are unsure if your family celebration dress should be casual or formal a little black dress always does the trick!  It can be worn to a summer outing, winter celebration party, as a wedding guest, and any holiday event.
Criss cross bands show off your back in a striped junior sundress. Choose red or blue stripes on a white background for your sleeveless tank dress. At this budget friendly price, this casual sundress works on weekends, at the beach, out at night, on vacation or add layers and this knit dress heads out to work with you as well!

Finding the Bridal Gloves on dressv.com

Nowadays, gloves are a necessity of people's life. But do you know where does it come from? It was not until the 16th century that gloves reached their greatest elaboration, however, when Queen Elizabeth I set the fashion for wearing them richly embroidered and jewelled, and for putting them on and taking them off during audiences, to draw attention to her beautiful hands. The 1592 "Ditchley" portrait of her features her holding leather gloves in her left hand. In Paris, the gantiersbecame gantiers parfumeurs, for the scented oils, musk, ambergris and civet, that perfumed leather gloves, but their trade, which was an introduction at the court of Catherine de Medici, was not specifically recognized until 1656, in a royal brevet. Makers of knitted gloves, which did not retain perfume and had less social cachet, were organised in a separate guild, of bonnetiers who might knit silk as well as wool. Such workers were already organised in the fourteenth century. Knitted gloves were a refined handiwork that required five years of apprenticeship; defective work was subject to confiscation and burning. In the 17th century, gloves made of soft chicken skin became fashionable. The craze for gloves called "limericks" also took hold. This particular glove-fad was the product of a manufacturer in Limerick, Ireland, who fashioned the gloves from the skin of unborn calves. In the Victorian era, some women would wear undersized leather gloves in an effort to shrink the size of their hands, as small hands were considered a sign of beauty.

Now you know part of the history. You must have seen some elegant lady with a pair of gloves. They look so beautiful and graceful. Have you ever thought wearing a pair of bridal gloves with your wedding gown? If you have such an idea, you may go to dressv.com to see many different styles and fabrics of gloves that suitable for your wedding dress.

Liam and Vicky were married at the beginning of the year, and chose Southampton Registry Office for their ceremony and The Star Hotel to host their wedding reception.
They wanted to keep their wedding to a £3500 budget, homemaking much of their quirky vintage inspired day. I love the pops of red throughout and i have to mention those fabknitted cake toppers.
Vicky looked incredible in her tea length dress and chic beehive, while Liam looked dapper in his grey suit from Next. I so love the pretty bridesmaids, those red dresses and gypsophila bouquets look amazing together.

Laura and Rich were married at The Barn at Brynich, Becon, they wanted their wedding to be relaxed and warm, which was also family friendly. They had the most beautifulelements to their day, from the purple hued incredible florals, sparkle everywhere, and the cutest wedding party.
Laura looks just amazing in her Oh My Honey dress, sequin jacket and glitter shoes, while Rich went for a brown check suit with purple bow tie and pink suede shoes.. wow. One of my favourite moments from part 1 was their ‘first look without a look’ where they exchanged gifts and cards, it’s the most touching moment.

reblogged: HONEYMOON ADVENTURES: AN AFRICAN SAFARI

After exchanging vows in Chicago, Maureen + Chad spent a few weeks in Kenya on an African Safari! What an amazing place to go for a honeymoon!! I love that they even had their photographers (Nordica Photography) join them to capture photos of them on their honeymoon and then even in their wedding attire! A bit more about their adventure from Maureen:

Our days were simple: we spent the early mornings leisurely driving through the tall dew drenched grasses admiring the sunrise and the stillness, and long afternoons under the African sun eagerly searching for wild animals. The nights were filled with African dancing, plenty of laughter and storytelling by the fire. Our African wedding photos captured our love affair with foreign countries, and allow us to remember our beginning as man and wife. Our love for each other is obsessive and consuming; our wedding day and honeymoon was a beautiful yet simple representation of us.

Ash+ Jake didn’t just have a wedding – they had an intimate, four-day, destination LoveFest in Yosemite! :) Since they both work in the wedding industry, these two know all too well just how fast the day flies by. By slowing things down and packing a long weekend full of fun activities and events (with a wedding sandwiched in between!), they were able to really enjoy themselves and spend lots of quality time with all of their guests! They DIY’d all of the details incorporated into the day, with considerable respect to their rustic surroundings. According to Ash, The ideas were based off of our venue being Yosemite and mother nature, herself. We are both really into astrology so we were inspired by that and keeping things as organic as possible. We wanted it to look almost as if we weren’t bringing any outside elements to Yosemite.

Chiffon Column Gown For A Bridal Party

Here a long bridesmaid dress will be introduced in this article. It is a Long and luxurious bridesmaid dress with beautifully draped bodice and soft flowing sash. Strapless column gown features asymmetrical  draped bobbin net bodice and flowing sash. It is available in stores and online in Amethyst, Blush, Cassis, Ebony, Midnight, Mist, Sterling, Valentina and VW Champagne.

We will have the greatest experience during the alteration.  It was worth every penny. The dress runs one size smaller. We will agree that the material looks much different than in the model photo, but it's also very light and flowing. The fit is excellent & the draped bodice cinches at the waist beautifully. The flowing sash in the front adds a touch of softness the dress needs to not look overtly sexy. The only thing we're altering on this dress is making it a sweetheart neckline. I would highly recommend this beautiful Vera!

Ivory Flower Girl Dresses on dressv.com

Ivory is a color of pure and kind. And that is a represent for the image of a flower girl. In the middle ages, many people were poor and did not practice good hygiene. Many people only bathed once a year, and the use of floral sachets to cover body odor was routine. During a special occasion like a wedding, the young girls would spread the fragrant petals of roses, lilac and other strongly scented flowers on the ground. As the petals were crushed by people walking upon them, they would release their powerful aroma, leaving behind a pleasant scent that was far more preferable to the natural odors of the guests and participants.
The Victorian era ushered in many changes that you will still see today. With an emphasis on romance, the Victorians began dressing the flower girls in gowns to match the bride. The use of garlands of flowers encircling their hair became fashionable during this time, as well as the use more ornamental flowers throughout the ceremony. Satin sashes and sweet romantic touches adorned the flower girl, who in turn brought good luck and joy to the bride and groom. This tradition remains today.
Most cultures have incorporated the use of flower girls in one way or another. Many traditions call for the flower girl to wear a white dress as a beacon of purity and innocence.  Some cultures prefer brighter, more robust prints as a sign of growth and bright, new beginnings. The one common factor is they all carry or wear flowers. In the western culture, we have become accustomed to the ritual of tossing flower petals on the path of the bride. Elsewhere, the flower girl may wear a ring of flowers in her hair or as a garland around her neck.
In some African cultures the flower girls carry, and play, instruments that are used for the wedding march. In India, the flower girl will receive intricate henna tattoos just as her older counterparts receive. In some Asian cultures, red is the color of the day, and is shared by the flower girl and the bride. In some areas, elaborate face paint is employed to make the flower girl stand apart.
In all corners of the planet, we just love to see little girls adorned as flower girls. This age-old tradition will never go out of style.

A Flower Girl Dress

Selecting the right flower girl dress and accessories is an exciting time. Indeed it is a special day for the bride rather than the flower girl but what she wears will help her feel just that much more special and create memories for a life time. Traditionally and in many cultures yet today, the "little bride" look is desirable for flower girl.

A white or ivory dress and add a sash in a color close to the color of the Bride’s Maids dresses.  It may be possible to order extra fabric from the company where you order the Bride’s Maids’ dresses to have sashes made up.  Or, you can select a similar color from a child’s dress company; matching isn’t often that important.

Here a flower girl dress will be introduced in this article. This long tiered chiffon dress is a chic and stunning option for any flower girl! Organza tank bodice features long tiered chiffon skirt creating a dramatic look.

Sometimes little love stories grow and evolve through time.
There is something mystical about old cobble streets, little medieval alleyways and a wealth of history Gamla Stan (Old Town) offers, in Stockholm. Karin and Khashayar are both raised in this fantastic City and it was such a privilege to be working in such momentous location with very cool history as backdrop.

Photographer Laura Babb got in touch with these striking images from an engagement shoot she shot at the Natural History Museum.
Matt and Lucy had their first date at the museum and so decided to head back there for some personal photographs. I love this day out shoot with dramatic atmospheric shots.
Thanks so much to Babb Photo for sharing her gorgeous photographs with us today, here is what Matt and Lucy had to say;
‘We first met through work a bit over 6 years ago. We are both geologists, so we have a love of rocks and all things to do with the natural world! We went on an early date to the Natural History Museum, and the opportunity to have our engagement photo-shoot there was too good to pass up on. It was surprisingly easy to arrange, and the beautiful building and the dinosaurs were a fantastic backdrop to the photographs. The engagement shoot gave us a great opportunity to relax in front of the camera, and was a memorable experience captured by some fabulous and personal photos.’

reblogged: A DREAMY & HOMEMADE DESTINATION WEDDING IN NORMANDY

original: http://whimsicalwonderlandweddings.com/2013/06/a-dreamy-homemade-destination-wedding-in-normandy.html

Sophie and Charley whisked themselves and their loved ones to Normandy in May for their romantic wedding. They wanted a weekend which was relaxed, intimate and homemade. They dreamed of an outdoor ceremony by the river, with a rustic barn reception to follow. They made jam for favours, rustic signs and candle holders.
Sophie looks stunning in tulle with a lace bolero, while Charley opted for a relaxed Hugo Boss suit without a tie. Beautiful.
Thanks so much to the amazing Craig George for sharing his photographs with us today.
