This week we head to Chicago for the urban industrial feel wedding of Tracey and Josh. They threw a full on party full of fun and personality. I adore the first look, the warehouse venue and quirky wedding cake. Such a stylish and lovely couple.

I wanted to create a romantic setting for two with a modern Grecian style. One element we all think of when imagining Greece is their clear blue water, so we started the session under water to add a different type of romantic flare. We wrapped the bride in white chiffon and had the couple do certain movements to capture the flow of emotion and fabric as they embraced and twirled in the water together.

Our next scene was our first set up by the lake. We had the table decked out in navy with white and gold accents, and served up a fabulous Grecian menu complete with stuffed mushrooms as the appetizer, Grecian salad with crisp Bibb lettuce, cherry tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries, and feta while drizzled in a passion fruit dressing, Chicken Rosemary in a lemon garlic sauce, French green beans, and baby red potatoes.

Our last location was the Love Nook, which we designed using DIY elements, such as sewing the navy and sequin pillows together, repainting the chandelier and adding crystals to it, and using clear vases filled with water and floating candles.

All of these elements created an unforgettable setting filled with Grecian flare and a romantic ambiance.

Today we head across to Ontario in Canada for this gorgeous wedding sent into me by Gee and Ieva from Blue Colibri. It’s a gorgeous wedding with the most touching and emotional first look. I do love a first look, not only is the moment so precious but it also means there are often more couples shots of the bride and groom as a first look means there is more time for photographs. The wedding itself is incredibly touching and with 240 guests they certainly have a room full of happy guests. The ribbon decoration and colourful flowers are beautiful and I am just loving Graces’s traditional Chinese dress that she wears for the later part of the celebration. I am also loving her words of wisdom when asked for advice, she really does have the right mindset when it comes to marriage.

We met in college playing volleyball together and became friends while serving in the same Christian fellowship there. Before graduation, Johnny professed his feelings for me one night after his graduation formal. Although I rejected him that night and went our separate ways, we kept in touch as friends. Four years later when our paths crossed again (it was meant to be!), I finally agreed to go on a date with him and after 1 year of courting, Johnny proposed.
